Having spent the afternoon at the races, you are eager to unwind but unsure of what to do. With a smile, your spouse picks up two tickets from the dresser and hands them to you. They are for this evening's ballet performance of Swan Lake. Wow!
Just at that moment a song by Elton John comes on the stereo.....
Blue jean baby, L.A lady
Seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile
You'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must've seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me
Tiny dancer in my hand
Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
....and you are transported to the Pircville Theater. Limos drive by, dropping off handsome men in tuxedos, wearing top hats with beautiful women in fabulous gowns on their arm. You hand your tickets to an usher who hands you a program for tonight's performance.
With the sounds of an orchestra tuning in the background, you are shown to your box seats overlooking the stage. The usher closes the curtains behind you and you pull out your opera glases. The lights dim. The overture begins!
Lights! Prima ballerinas wearing beautiful costumes! Soft ballet slippers! Background scenery! What do you remember from the performance?
