Chester Plugman was an overweight and vain man. He wore a stylish derby and his handlebar mustache was thick with grease! But he also felt himself an important man for he was the bank president of the Dodge City Merchants Bank. Today, he had a decision to make. The vault in his bank was old, having been installed when the bank first opened in 1853. Now, here it was 1876 and if the rumors were true, he would need a safe, secure bank vault very soon.
Marshall Dillon had warned him that the notorious James gang was in the area. Jesse James had been overheard to boast that he was going after the riches in the Dodge City Merchants Bank and Chester was worried his vault wouldn’t stand up to the gang. He needed a secure vault; one that even dynamite couldn’t blast open.
Chester could almost name the banks and railroads that Frank and Jesse James had robbed. Davies County Savings Bank! The Bank of Columbia! The armored car owned by the Iron Mountain Railroad! The list seemed endless. The supposedly secure safes and vaults were no more that hunks of iron when the James Gang got through with them! No! Chester needed the best and most secure vault that money could buy! The Dodge City Merchants Bank would have the one vault that the James Gang could not rob!
Firmly, Chester made up his mind! He would go talk to the engineers at the Objects R Us Bank Vault design center. They would have a bank vault that the James Gang couldn’t break into. You are the head Bank Vault designer. What do you have on the showroom to show Chester? (and remember, this is 1876!)
