The Viking Coat of Arms

The heart is my love for my family and country, there's my country flags and the lion is the "Finnish lion" not that we ever had any real lions here. Then there's the dog's, I have never lived without one so they have to be there and last the Viking ship, of course. Dad said that we are Vikings so I have to belive that.

Azure (Blue) Strength, Loyalty
Vert (Green) Hope, loyalty in love
Wavy Line Sea or Water
Fess Signifies the Military Belt - represents Honour stripes on shield
Lion Fierce Courage.
In Ireland the Lion represented the 'lion' season, prior to the full arrival of Summer. The symbol can also represent a great Warrior or Chief.
Oak Tree and Leaves, Acorns Antiquity and Strength
In Ireland the Oak tree was the most noble of the Chieftain trees.

The color blue over all is a symbol of loyalty; gold in the trimming means generosity. The red in the left side indicates martyr and strength. The Black on the right side is a sign of grief.
The dove within the black is a symbol of peace; the peace sign (also can be just a circle) means fidelity. The cross at the top of the shield means sign of the 8th son; the crossed gold lines on the shield are for resolve. The scared rose in the middle means hope and joy. The joined hearts hold the 3 needs in life; hope, faith, and charity. The heart itself means sincerity. The 6 point star on the wizard/witches hat means God's goodness, and the crescent moon means hope for glory. I put the magical hat and wand to indicate my belief there is magic in all of us. The staff and banners on each side are personal beliefs of mine. The banner over head hold 3 most important virtues in life; honor, integrity, and trust.
Doing this without looking up the symbols first was almost like a astrological reading!!! In so far as I can see, all the things I added were things that I hold dear. The grief must be for the loss of my husband and it's fitting the fidelity is there also.
Colors: Silver--Peace & Sincerity
Gold--Generosity
Maroon--Patience
Black--Constancy
Symbols: Heart--Charity & sincerity
Starflower--I wanted something that looked similar to a primrose and this shape was similar, so for purposes of my coat of arms, it's a primrose which represents "brings good tidings"
Diamonds (lozenges)--Constancy
Cross--Faith
Swords--Justice
Motto: translates as "To a valiant heart, nothing is impossible."
The animal I chose is a bear that represents me as a mother, protecting her cubs. The wings of a bird representing the wings I want my children to have to search for their dreams. The 4 paws are a sign that I'm always standing and alert to defend them, the heart represents my love to them, my initials and the two flowers crossed representing nature. On the bottom are the 5 most important words for me in relation to my family....didn't have enough space to add happiness...:)

The main symbol is the anti-nuclear symbol. This represents my wholehearted commitment to peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.
The menu bar on the right of the shield represents all of my internet activities. The internet being the first place that I started to express who I was deep down it has plaid an important part in forming the person I am now.
The prone lady represents depression a monkey that has ridden the shoulders of both myself and my girls. Depression has played a big part in getting me to where I am now as for the majority of my life I was depressed, even as a child. I never realized I was depressed as I had no memory of being anything else. I thought life was that flat and meaningless for everybody. It is less that 3 years since I discovered a life free from depression and I have to say it is magic.
And that explains the fairies supporting it all. They are the magic, the spirit, the freedom, something that came to me later in life and hence is all the more precious.
The dove and the motto on the banner symbolize my relationship with the universe around me. My commitment to peace and my belief that it is important to be the changes one wishes to see in the world. The peaceful world I wish to see, let it start with me.

The wolf head and the fire are me of course, the moon on the left ear is for our (mine and hubby's) business which is called Nocturnal Moon, the symbol on the right ear is a Druidic symbol for Awen, the heart with the D in the middle is for my darling husband, the sprig is for my love of nature, the lil square thing that you can't tell what it is, is actually a digital scrap booking kit, since I am in the process or started my own personal business by doing one of my favorite hobbies, and last but probably the most important thing on there is the silhouette of my precious Whisper!! She turned a year old in June and even the vet didn't think she would ever see that b-day. It's been a difficult but eventful year with her. She was born with a broken back which the other vets never figured out, but our current vet did. She is a real miracle kitty and my source of inspiration. I have watched her learn to crawl and climb and be one of the happiest creatures i have ever seen despite her physical handicaps and some difficult illness throughout this past year...I could talk about her forever sooooo...that is my Coat of arms.

The angel was the first "computer drawing" I ever did (with a mouse). The beginning of my love of digital painting I suppose. She also signifies my love of storms, a higher power, nature's force and my guardian angel who has protected me thus far.
The swords are not in the traditional coat of arms position. Instead, they are positioned as a symbol of "Awen" ( /|\ ) or "inspiration". My personal belief is that anything is possible through the expression of awen.
The motto "Carpe Diem" translates to "Seize the Day!". Always make the most of each moment of each day.
